Forthcoming Events
Kamishibai projects for events in UK and abroad including:
Derek Carpenter Kamishibai man here in Newcastle, has been invited to attend in August 2011 in Matsuyama from 1st -11th August where there will be a international Kamishibai gathering in Japan. Yunoyama neighbourhood association have invited me to perform at their Childrens festival on the 3rd August and I will be taking part with lectures and demonstrations of my interpretations of Kamishibai in the main Festival on the 5th-6th of August.
My friend Yumiko Mitsudo will be translating for me at these events.
Yumiko has been for sometime now translating Kamishibai texts for me whilst finishing her dissertation on "Cinderella" here at Newcastle University in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Derek Carpenter will perform Kamishibai at CTC cycling Rally at York Racecourse 25th-26th June 2011
